7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

From the Life Application Bible:

Carrying your worries, stresses, and daily struggles by yourself shows that you have not trusted God fully with your life. It takes humility, however, to recognize that God cares, to admit your need, and to let others in God’s family help you.

Sometimes we think that struggles caused by our own sin and foolishness are not God’s concern. But when we turn to God in repentance, he will bear the weight even of those struggles. Letting God have your anxieties calls for action, not passivity. Don’t submit to circumstances but to the Lord, who controls circumstances.

Work brings profit. As Dave Ramsey says, “work is a sure-fire money-making scheme.” Don’t just talk about working. Go out there and do it!

17 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NLT)

From the Life Application Bible:

Ephesus was a wealthy city, and the Ephesian church probably had many wealthy members. Paul advised Timothy to deal with any potential problems by teaching that having riches carries great responsibility. Those who have money must be generous, but they must not be arrogant just because they have a lot to give. They must be careful not to put their hope in money instead of in the living God for their security. Even if we don’t have material wealth, we can be rich in good deeds. No matter how poor we are, we have something to share with someone.

4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. 5 Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.

Psalm 37:4-5 (NLT)

From the Life Application Bible:

David calls us to delight in the Lord and to commit everything we have and do to him. But how do we do this? To delight in someone means to experience great pleasure and joy in his or her presence. This happens only when we know that person well. Thus, to delight in the Lord, we must know him better. Knowledge of God’s great love for us will indeed give us delight.

To commit ourselves to the Lord means entrusting everything – our lives, families, jobs, possessions – to his control and guidance. To commit ourselves to the Lord means to trust in him (37:5), believing that he can care for us better than we can ourselves. We should be willing to wait patiently (37:7) for him to work out what is best for us.

9 We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.

Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

We can make all the plans we want to, but God is the one who gives us step-by-step directions. Follow God’s plan. Don’t take things into your own hands. That’s when things begin to go wrong. God knows best. God knows the end from the beginning. If you’re completely lost, just ask the Holy Spirit to lead you, to guide you, and teach you in the things of God. God always answers prayer and he’s always speaking. But are we listening? Get the play-by-play from God today.

John 21:6 (NLT)

We serve a faithful God! We serve a God who cares about the little things. He cares about the details of our lives. And He cares enough to take care of us. He wants to bless us. He wants to see us in the overflow. So just cast out your net! He’ll fill the net. He’ll do the work. All you have to do is obey. And the fish will be there. Your needs will be met. Trust in Him. He’ll never let you down.

1 Chronicles 28:20 (NLT)

David advised Solomon not to be frightened about the size of his task as king and builder of the Temple. Fear can immobilize us. The size of a job, its risks, or the pressure of the situation can cause us to freeze and do nothing. One remedy for fear is found here: Don’t focus on the fear; instead, get to work. Getting started is often the most difficult and frightening part of a job.

6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. 8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

9 But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.

1 Timothy 6:6-9 (NLT)

Why does the Bible talk about contentment? Being content is a key to “great wealth”. Keeping up with the Joneses is a fast path to the poor house. The illusion of wealth shouldn’t motivate us. Being thankful and content for the blessings we have will ensure that we have the right perspective. It’s not like we’re going to take our wealth with us after we die anyway.

From the Life Application Bible:

It is often helpful to distinguish between needs and wants. We may have all we need to live but let ourselves become anxious and discontent over what we merely want. Like Paul, we can choose to be content without having all that we want. The only alternative is to be a slave to our desires.

Matthew 2:11 (NLT)

Happy Mother’s Day! This verse is about how the wise men came to seek out the baby Jesus and when they found him, they worshipped him with his mother at his side. Moms are important. Mary played an important role in the birth of the savior of the universe.

What would we do without our moms? Love her, cherish her, help her, honor her. It’s the least we can do.

Remember that Moms rock! So treat her like a rockstar today and every day! God bless!

23 Know the state of your flocks, and put your heart into caring for your herds, 24 for riches don’t last forever, and the crown might not be passed to the next generation. 25 After the hay is harvested and the new crop appears and the mountain grasses are gathered in, 26 your sheep will provide wool for clothing, and your goats will provide the price of a field. 27 And you will have enough goats’ milk for yourself, your family, and your servant girls.

Proverbs 27:23-27 (NLT)

I think these verses, especially verse 23 and 24, are talking about knowing the state of your possessions. Knowing what your net worth is and where your money is going is a fundamental skill in winning with your finances.

From the Life Application Bible:

Because life is uncertain, we should be all the more diligent in preparing for the future. We should act with foresight, giving responsible attention to our home, our family, and our career. We should be responsible stewards, like a farmer with his lands and herds. Thinking ahead is a duty, not an option, for God’s people.

25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. 26 Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

John 11:25-26 (NLT)

He is risen! Today is the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ! He is God in the flesh because He fulfilled God’s plan by dying on the cross for us, but not only that. He rose from the grave, defeated death so that we could live, too!

Jesus is the only person in religion who is still alive today! Buddha is still in the grave. Muhammad is still dead. Jesus is the way and there is no other way! There are not multiple ways into heaven. You must believe in Jesus! And just like Jesus asked Martha, do you believe? Happy Resurrection Day aka Happy Easter!
