Did They Say That? Lincoln on Loss of Freedom

We’ll end this Christian Finance Blog Inauguration season and the Presidential Giveaway with a quote by Abraham Lincoln. And what a relevant quote it is especially today. America cannot be destroyed by foreign enemies. Our military strength has no match in the world. What can destroy our country is the loss of freedom; not by our enemies, but from within.
This is happening right before our eyes. We’re seeing this right now. “Nationalization” of banks. Universal health care. Government bailouts. Redistribution of wealth (taking from the rich and giving to the poor). Now I am by no means rich and I would benefit from many of these proposals from President Obama. However, socialism is slowly creeping into this free capitalist country. Socialism doesn’t work. It’s not a Democrat or a Republican issue. It’s a capitalism issue.
Pray for the President. Pray for this country. Pray, pray, pray!

With the economy the way it is right now with all the layoffs and more to come; government spending and deficit out of control; the continued housing slump; one wonders where to turn for help. Isn’t amazing that the very same man is responsible for moving us from a government of 50 indepenent states to 50 states dependent on one huge centralized government. So much for a free America! Thanks Mr. Lincoln!
