It is more about putting love above all things even one's faith. it speaks of love being above prophecy(the bible itself is prophecy) if you read futher down you will also see that it says"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love". I think this scripture is talking about people who are so close to their religion that they cant see beyond the doctrine to grasp true love. futher down also explains love and what it is.
