Ask any millionaire or billionaire today whether or not laziness or not working hard got them to where they are. I can guarantee you that most successful people today get there because of hard work. I agree with you that many of the working poor work very hard. However, this verse is not talking about the poor. It's talking about people who want to get rich quick and aren't willing to put in the hard work. The best way to get rich quick is to not get rich quick. Remember, these are not my words.
