It’s interesting to see what the Bible has to say on living beneath your means. According to the Bible, you’re a fool if everything you earn so that means most Americans. The Bible tells us to save for the future and live beneath our means so that we can have wealth and luxury. Wealthy people do not get rich by spending all they earn. People who have the fancy cars and houses are not the one’s who are rich in this country. They are in debt up to their eyeballs with no assets to their name. True millionaires live beneath their means.

This proverb is about saving for the future. Easy credit has many people living on the edge of bankruptcy. The desire to keep up appearances and to accumulate more drives them to spend every penny they earn, and they stretch their credit to the limit. But anyone who spends all he has is spending more than he can afford. A wise person puts money aside for hard times. God approves of foresight and restraint. God’s people need to examine their life-styles to see whether their spending is God-pleasing or merely self-pleasing.
